The "Moonlit Gymnastics Busan Challenge" is a Busan-specific lifestyle sports program designed to encourage citizens who are unfamiliar with exercise or have little interest in it to participate in lifestyle sports activities easily and enjoyably. Its purpose is to expand citizen participation in lifestyle sports, promote health, and foster a vibrant nighttime leisure culture. Hosted and organized by the Busan Metropolitan City, this citizen-participatory event utilizes outdoor spaces, such as Busan's representative parks and waterfront areas, to allow people to enjoy lifestyle sports regularly every week under the moonlight on autumn nights. The main program consists of various lifestyle sports activities, including gymnastics, yoga, circuit training, Zumba, and children's exercises, directly led by famous fitness influencers. In addition, the event features lifestyle sports performances such as Taekwondo, jump rope, boxing, and cheerleading, as well as cultural performances including magic, comedy, busking, and concerts. It is a festival-style event that also runs participatory activities for citizens to directly participate in and enjoy, such as the Citizen Fitness Test, Fitness King Selection Contest, Tabata and Spinning Challenges, and Random Play Dance Challenge. The event features recreational sports experiences such as archery, basketball, bowling, and golf, as well as health-related booths offering physical fitness testing, exercise prescription, taping, and pain care. It also offers various experiential programs that families can participate in together. This is a citizen-participatory recreational sports festival designed to lower barriers to entry for citizens and expand opportunities for daily recreational sports participation by combining recreational sports programs with performances, participatory events, and family experience content.
