The 5th Busan Seo-gu Medical Tourism Festival will be held for two days on October 16 and 17 at Songdo Ocean Park, jointly organized by Seo-gu District, Pusan National University Hospital, Dong-A University Hospital, Kosin University Gospel Hospital, and Sahmyook Busan Hospital. The festival aims not only to widely promote Seo-gu as the first "Medical Tourism Special Zone" in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, but also to lay the foundation for attracting foreign patients through business consultations and buyer familiarization tours, and to provide residents and tourists with accurate health information and diverse medical experience opportunities. This year, health-related consultations, exhibitions, promotions, and experiential events will take place at approximately 60 booths. Various medical-related institutions, including co-organizing hospitals, public health centers, and the National Health Insurance Service, will participate to provide visitors with diverse health services and information, such as physical examinations, stress diagnoses, Korean medicine pharmacopuncture treatments, and consultations on proper medication use. In addition, a 'Medical and Healthcare Industry Promotion Hall' will be operated in collaboration with Busan Technopark to intensively promote key projects of the Seo-gu Medical Special Zone, such as the Medical R&D Knowledge Industry Center, incubators, municipal-based industries, and medical demonstration projects, while also showcasing a variety of medical and healthcare devices from innovative companies participating in these initiatives. On-site attractions are abundant with things to see and enjoy, featuring wellness experience programs tailored to a health and wellness concept that everyone can participate in, such as 'Slow Jogging,' 'Silent Meditation Yoga,' 'CrossFit,' and 'Jumping Fitness.' There will also be children's health playgrounds and family-friendly experience booths, including the 'Kids Doctor Experience Hall' and 'Air Sports.' Side events will include a 'Health Talk Concert' with a plastic surgeon from Kosin University Gospel Hospital, as well as various activities such as a 'Children's Magic and Balloon Show' and large-scale board games. The festival opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on the 16th, and the opening celebration stage will feature An Seong-hoon, the winner of ‘Mr. Trot 2’, as well as the Korean traditional music b-boy group ‘Lastreet Crew’ and pop flute player ‘Seo Ga-bi’, who are set to present an exciting performance.
