The 18th Seoul Architecture Festival

The 18th Seoul Architecture Culture Festival (2026), under the theme "Discovering Seoul: Assembling Seoul," aims to rediscover the unique charms of Seoul's architecture and city together with its citizens. Seoul generates creative possibilities based on "complex density," which combines the history, culture, and locality of a high-density city. Furthermore, amidst rapid social change, it has continuously adapted through "accelerated evolution," which rapidly renews forms based on existing accumulation. Moreover, through "glocality," which intersects regional contexts with global trends, it is expanding the unique urban experiences and values of contemporary K-architecture to the world. This year, the Seoul Architecture Culture Festival has prepared various participatory programs to allow citizens to experience Seoul's architecture and city more closely and to engage with architectural culture in a friendly manner. Through diverse citizen-participatory content—such as an Architecture Culture Forum with architects, talk programs and work tours with the winners of the 44th Seoul Architecture Awards, and programs for young aspiring architects—the festival seeks to create a platform for discovering Seoul's architecture and building K-architecture culture together with the citizens.
