About this event

Under the theme of "A New Sprint of Culture," a 700-meter stretch of Janghan-ro will transform into a car-free cultural and artistic street for one day. Performances, hands-on activities, and citizen participation programs will be held throughout the road, where vehicle traffic is restricted, reinterpreting the road itself as a festival space. Based on the historical significance of Janghan-ro, which stretched from Janghanpyeong—where warhorses ran during the Joseon Dynasty—to the center of the modern automobile industry, the festival presents a new sprint leading from "horses" through "automobiles" to "culture." In particular, this year strengthens participatory programs that allow citizens to become the protagonists of the festival, going beyond mere spectatorship. The entire road will be organized into one massive festival venue through unique roller rinks that utilize the spatial characteristics of Janghan-ro and events such as "My Car Becomes a Shop," which utilizes citizens' vehicles.
