About this event

The 2025 Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide cultural event held during the third week of October every year to promote Hanbok, which embodies our elegance and tradition, and to spread a culture of wearing Hanbok in daily life. The slogan is "Modern Hanbokpan, the Center of K-Culture." Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, the event showcases diverse Hanbok cultural programs—including fashion shows, performances, awards for Hanbok professionals, and hands-on experiences—at major locations across the country. With over 330 participating venues nationwide this year, it has established itself as a cultural festival that everyone can enjoy. Furthermore, special events at overseas locations such as Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin share the beauty of Hanbok with the world, while an online campaign titled "Characters Wear Hanbok," featuring mascots from six local governments, and an art balloon exhibition provide opportunities to enjoy Hanbok in a more approachable way. Just like the slogan of the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week, ‘In the Heart of Modernity,’ I hope this will be a meaningful time to share the beauty and value of Hanbok in this present era, which is the most beautiful time of Korean culture.
