Eight happy days shared with the people, approaching as a festival for the citizens. The most magnificent festival in Joseon history, a journey shared by the people and the benevolent ruler! In 2026, we will follow the route of King Jeongjo's royal procession to the tombs and reflect on Jeongjo's intentions as contained in the *Wonhaeng Eulmyo Jeongni Uigwe*. In 1795, King Jeongjo traveled to Suwon Hwaseong Fortress to commemorate the 60th birthday of his mother, Lady Hyegyeong. Jeongjo's eight-day journey was not merely a royal relocation, but a historical event in which he shared joyful memories with his people. Jeongjo's spirit of love for the people was captured in the *Wonhaeng Eulmyo Jeongni Uigwe* and widely distributed. In 2026, inheriting the spirit of King Jeongjo, the people's happy memories are recreated as the citizens' happy memories. The Joint Reenactment of King Jeongjo's Royal Procession is a festival in which the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Gyeonggi Province, Suwon City, and Hwaseong City collaborate to splendidly recreate the original form of the "Eulmyo Year Hwaseong Royal Procession" in the modern era.
