Mungyeong Gaeun Ajagae Market Festival

The 'Gaeun Ajagae Market Festival' will be held for three days from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4 in the Gaeun-eup area of Mungyeong-si. Based on the warm and friendly atmosphere of the Gaeun Ajagae Market, this is a generation-friendly festival where visitors can enjoy food, hands-on activities, performances, and exhibitions all in one place. The 'Miss Trot 4 Gala Show' will take place on the eve of the festival on Friday, October 2, while the 'Time Capsule Concert' featuring singers representing the 80s and 90s era will be held on Saturday, October 3. On the final day, Sunday, October 4, the 'Children's Big Show' will be presented for children and family visitors, filling the time with entertainment for the whole family. In particular, to revitalize the local economy, this festival features a receipt event linked to surrounding businesses, allowing visitors to experience tasting menus prepared by famous chefs using Mungyeong Yakdol pork. In addition, the 'Gaeun Coal Mine History Photo Exhibition' has been organized to look back on the history of Gaeun's coal mines, which played a major role in Korea's coal industry. Through photographs capturing the work of past miners and the daily life of the mining village, visitors can vividly experience the important history that underpinned Korea's industrialization and economic growth.
