The World Heritage Festival is a cultural heritage festival designed to allow people to interpret and experience the universal values of humanity's shared heritage in a modern way, using UNESCO World Heritage sites located across the country as its stage. Hosted by the National Heritage Administration and organized by the National Heritage Foundation, the festival features a diverse range of programs—including performances, hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and seminars—based on the history and significance of regional World Heritage sites. Born in its seventh year, the festival is scheduled to take place nationwide, centering on the "Gaya Tombs," traces of ancient civilization distributed across the Gyeongsang and Jeolla regions; the "Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes," where the unique beauty of volcanic terrain shines; and Andong's "Mountain Monasteries of Korea," "Historic Villages of Korea," and "Confucian Academies of Korea," where tradition and modernity coexist. In these sites where the traces of time come alive, the World Heritage Festival will offer a special experience that connects the heritage of the past to the "joys of today."
