Welcome to Singwan-dong

Welcome to Singwan-dong is a street festival centered on youth culture held in the Daehak-ro area of Singwan-dong, Gongju-si. As part of the Cultural City Development Project promoted by Gongju City and the Gongju Culture and Tourism Foundation, it aims to foster Singwan-dong as a hub for youth culture and to revitalize the local cultural ecosystem and commercial district. Held since 2022, the festival has operated as a street performance-centered event and has gradually expanded its diverse content, including busking competitions, street performances, a beer festa, a flea market, and experiential programs. In 2025, the 'Welcome to Singwan-dong' brand was established through the installation of street signposts and sculptures, as well as navigation service labeling; by 2026, the goal is to create a sustainable festival model based on a cooperative operational system involving residents, merchants, universities, and youth. The 2026 festival is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 11 in the Daehak-ro area of Singwan-dong, featuring main performances, nationwide street performances, performances by local youth and young adult performing groups, programs linked to local commercial districts, and local currency coupon events. In addition, it is planned to operate as a representative local street festival in conjunction with the Baekje Cultural Festival to encourage visitors to stay longer and promote cultural and economic revitalization in the Singwan-dong area.
