Yecheon Samgang Jumak Ferry Festival

The Samgangnaru Jumak Festival, a representative event of the Chuseok holiday, is a celebration enjoyed by both returning residents and visitors against the backdrop of Samgang Jumak, Korea's last remaining traditional tavern. The 2026 Yecheon Samgangnaru Jumak Festival will be held for three days from September 25 to 27 at the Samgang Cultural Complex under the theme "The Tavern Reopens, Samgang in Full Swing." Based on the history and culture of Samgang Jumak, which served as a resting place for peddlers and travelers crossing the ferry crossing in the past, the festival features participatory programs. These include the "Peddler's Festival," featuring actors dressed as peddlers, innkeepers, hunters, and merchants; the "Samgang Golden Bell," a type test to learn about the history and culture of Samgang; and a "Slow Mailbox." Additionally, the festival offers hands-on experiences such as making dalgona (traditional Korean candy), shooting, spinning wheel and Hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) try-ons, and a Kids Zone, along with performances by local artists, busking, and children's shows. It is a festival that also operates the Haeborae Market and a food zone, which are linked events where you can find local agricultural and specialty products and handicrafts.
