Sunchang Jangryu Festival

*The festival details below are from the previous year (2025), and the details for 2026 are currently being updated.* Commemorating the inscription of Korea's Jang-making culture as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and marking its 20th coming of age, the Jangryu Festival serves as Korea's representative fermented food festival. It aims to establish the festival's identity as the home of traditional Jang-making and promote the excellence of K-Food to the world. The festival features over 50 diverse programs across eight categories, including hands-on experiences based on traditional Jang-making, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales. Visitors can also taste spicy and savory dishes made with Sunchang Gochujang. In particular, unique and differentiated special experience programs exclusive to the Sunchang Jangryu Festival will be showcased, such as the 'Sunchang Gochujang Royal Tribute Procession' performance, 'Fermentation Country 1997,' and 'Soybeans: Boil, Pound, and Make Meju.' To mark the 20th anniversary this year, a variety of programs are also scheduled, including 'Find the Golden Meju' and the 'You and I, Coming of Age' Jang-making product discount event.
