The Gochang Moyangseong Festival is a historical and cultural festival centered around Moyangseong Fortress, which boasts the best-preserved original form in the country. The signature program is Dapseong-nori, an experiential activity developed based on the legend that circling the fortress once cures leg ailments, twice grants longevity, and three times leads to ascension to paradise. In addition, the festival features "Nighttime Dapseong Ganggangsullae Moonlight," a blend of Dapseong-nori and Ganggangsullae where residents and tourists mingle; a street parade involving approximately 1,000 residents expressing the past, present, and future; "Returns 1453," an event themed around a journey into the past that allows visitors to explore the interior of Gochang Eupseong Fortress; and food stalls and direct sales markets utilizing local specialties from the Gochang region.
