Hamyang Wild Ginseng Festival

Hamyang wild ginseng, grown in germanium soil at depths of over 500 meters, is known as premium wild ginseng due to its exceptional quality, including a dense and firm texture and high saponin content. It maintains its differentiated characteristics as premium wild ginseng through the nation's first wild ginseng traceability system, which allows consumers to accurately know production information, and through continuous quality control via the activities of the "Wild Ginseng Guardians." Held annually around September or October, the festival is organized to revitalize the local economy by expanding sales channels for local agricultural products by leveraging the image of wild ginseng—a clean forest product and the county's representative brand—and by operating programs linked with forest, cultural, and tourism resources. It features festival programs utilizing content that preserves the forgotten history and culture of wild ginseng and ginseng hunters at Hamyang Sangrim Park (Natural Monument No. 154), where the mystery of a thousand years lives on.
