The 2026 Korea Science Festival with Jeonbuk Science Festival is a science festival designed to allow residents to directly experience "Physical AI," a future industry of Jeonbuk. The event will be held for three days from October 16 to 18, 2026, at the Jeonju University Main Stadium and Harim Mission Hall. Under the theme "A Moving World, A New Future Opened by Physical AI!", the event is structured to allow visitors to experience AI not merely as a screen technology, but as a technology that moves and operates directly in the real world through robots and sensors. This event is linked with the Korea Science Festival and involves participation from national science museums, excellent research institutions from outside the province, and universities. Its primary objective is to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy scientific culture. The festival provides research achievements in cutting-edge science and technology fields—such as AI, bio, energy, and mobility—through experiential content tailored to the perspectives of children, adolescents, and the general public. In addition, it is a participatory science festival organized in conjunction with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education, where elementary, middle, and high schools in the province directly operate experience booths and organize events for visitors to participate in. The main programs consist of an opening ceremony, the awarding of the Jeonbuk Science and Technology Person of the Year and Student Science Invention Awards, thematic exhibitions, science and technology experiences, and performances. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education, and organized by the Korea Foundation for Science and Creativity, Jeonbuk Technopark, and the Jeonbuk Science and Culture Hub Center.
