Soyanggang Cultural Festival

The 47th Soyanggang Cultural Festival is a regional cultural festival held to discover and preserve Chuncheon's unique local culture and to provide a venue for harmony where citizens can enjoy together. Taking place from October 17 to 18, 2026, in the area around Chuncheon City Hall Plaza, the event showcases Chuncheon's traditional culture, such as the Yongsingut (Dragon God Ritual) and the Udubeol Daedongcheonnyeopnori (Udubeol Stream Hunting Play). The festival features street parades with citizen participation, performances by cultural schools, participatory stages for youth and children, invited performances, and performances by folk art troupes. Additionally, it offers programs for direct citizen participation, including random dance, folk games, rice cake pounding, and craft activities. Composed of diverse programs encompassing both performances and hands-on experiences, this cultural event is designed to allow generations to experience and share the region's traditional culture together.
