Seongsan Godeungeo Ssambap serves braised mackerel with kimchi, eaten ssambap style, a short drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong. Jeju mackerel is simmered under a mound of well aged kimchi whose acidity cuts the oiliness of the fish. Diners build their own wraps at the table with lettuce, perilla leaves, a piece of mackerel, a strip of the braised kimchi, and a dab of ssamjang. The dining room is large and plain, set up for families and hikers coming off the peak, with parking on site.
