Mokpo Port Festival

*The festival details below are from the previous year (2025), and the details for 2026 are currently being updated.* Mokpo opened its port in 1897 and served as a center for trade, logistics, and transportation. In the past, it enjoyed the glory of being one of the nation's top three ports and six major cities, leading the revival of the local economy. Currently, it serves as a central hinterland city for the southwestern coast. The Mokpo Port Festival is the only festival in the country to recreate the traditional Pasi (sea market) of Mokpo Port, filled with the scent of the harbor, on Samhakdo Island, where folklore coexists, thereby widely promoting its historical value. Furthermore, it is an autumn festival filled with the romance of the bountiful Mokpo Port, featuring events such as Pasi auctions utilizing seasonal seafood, and the opportunity to grill and cook the auctioned seafood on the spot.
