The Suwon Hwaseong Media Art Festival, held since 2021 against the backdrop of the World Heritage Site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, has concluded its 2021โ2025 season, "Mancheonmyeongwol: Jeongjoโs Dream, Becoming Light," and has been newly planned for 2026 under the theme "Saebitdongrak: Suwon Hwaseong, Blooming in Light," signifying "welcoming guests with [Saebit] and enjoying the night of Suwon Hwaseong together with [Dongrak]." As a night festival featuring massive media art that expresses the stories of people traversing time from the construction of the World Heritage Site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress to the present day through colorful lights, the 18-day event offers tourists a wealth of sights and entertainment, including large-scale media art combining light, video, and performance in the Hwaseomun area, as well as various interactive and responsive media art at Jangan Park.
1. Hwaseomun Media Art: 3 times a day (19:30, 20:30, 21:30) / 35-minute performance 2. Jangan Park Plaza: Audience-responsive interactive media art, landscape lighting utilizing trees, bubble lighting show, responsive playground, etc. 3. Janganmun Media Art: Implementation of 360-degree immersive media art 4. Side Programs: Local collaboration programs (flea market) / Suwon Skewer Festa booth operation / Global IP pop-up store operation, etc.
