Danyang Ondal Cultural Festival

The Danyang Ondal Cultural Festival is a representative cultural festival steeped in history, held annually in October in Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, against the backdrop of the beautiful legend of the Goguryeo heroes, General Ondal and Princess Pyeonggang. The festival features a variety of programs, including the magnificent General Ondal Departure Ceremony and Victory Parade, as well as tours of Ondal Fortress to experience the historical site firsthand and the Goguryeo Market Street showcasing the lifestyle of the era. Additionally, a rich array of activities is prepared, ranging from Goguryeo costume experiences and various experiential programs based on the Goguryeo period to traditional folk games for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors to the Ondal Tourist Site will encounter the spirit of Goguryeo through their five senses, facing a scene from history vividly and as if it were alive.
