The Saenggeojincheon Culture Festival is a representative local cultural festival of Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, boasting a long tradition dating back to 1979. The festival is held every autumn along the banks of Baekgokcheon Stream in Jincheon-eup. Its purpose is to preserve and develop Jincheon-gun's local culture, provide opportunities to enjoy arts and culture to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors, and promote community harmony and regional economic revitalization based on the region's history and culture. During the festival, various programs take place, including folk art competitions, local food competitions, and ssireum (Korean wrestling) tournaments. The festival features content that can be enjoyed by all generations, such as performances, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and food markets. Historically, Jincheon-gun has been a region with extensive fields and irrigation facilities, leading to advanced farming techniques and abundant agricultural products; consequently, the festival also serves as a venue for the sale of local agricultural and specialty products. It is the largest cultural event in Jincheon-gun, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year.
