The 17th Gwangju International Art Fair "Art Gwangju"

Art Gwangju is the largest international art fair in the Honam region, offering a comprehensive overview of domestic and international contemporary art trends and art market dynamics. It serves as a venue where domestic and international galleries, artists, and collectors gather to showcase their works, discover new artistic values, and engage in exchange; it acts as a hub for cultural and artistic exchange connecting Gwangju and Jeonnam with the global art world. The event is hosted by the Jeonnam-Gwangju Metropolitan City and organized by the Gwangju Cultural Foundation and the Art Gwangju Secretariat. Art Gwangju 26 features approximately 110 galleries from 12 countries, including the Middle East and Europe, showcasing diverse trends in contemporary art such as painting, sculpture, and media art. In particular, the event expands the exhibition value of the art fair by broadly introducing carefully selected artworks, collections from local collectors, and works by young artists from Gwangju and Jeonnam through the "Masterpiece Special Exhibition," "Proposal Exhibition," and "Rising Star Exhibition." Art Gwangju aims to go beyond a market for buying and selling artworks to serve as a venue for international cultural and artistic exchange where the value of art and new creations are discovered, and the region and the world interact. It seeks to broaden the base of art in Gwangju and Jeonnam and lay the foundation for sustainable growth.
